Occupational health and safety of our employees, as well as for all the parties involved at our site is our company''s top priority. The nature of INA MAZIVA''s business activities requires a high level of occupational health and safety, which makes it one of the priorities and basic prerequisites for the company''s success. INA MAZIVA has created a comprehensive occupational health and safety management system, with the aim of continuously raising the level of protection and safety as well as regular monitoring of the health of our employees. Since 2002, we have been the holder of the OHSAS 18001 certificate which enables us to manage the occupational health and safety system comprehensively. In 2020 we were certified in accordance with the new standard for occupational health and safety management system, ISO 45001: 2018. Occupational health and safety directly affects our business performance. Investing in health and safety is not only a trend related to social responsibility, it is also a wise investment. We are focused on the management of health and safety risks in order to prevent injuries, occupational diseases and incidents occurring in technological processes, while complying with all the standards, legal regulations and internal procedures. In order to achieve a high level of health and safety awareness, INA MAZIVA continuously expands its communication channels to involve all the interested parties, from top management, technical and administrative staff, production process employees to external contractors. We also take care of our employees’ health by providing them with comprehensive physical examinations, regular examinations of employees working in jobs with specific working conditions and additional specialist examinations.
We pay special attention to education and professional training of employees in a safe way, with the aim of reducing the risks of everyday business activities to the lowest possible level. All of our employees are trained in safety-at-work and fire protection, while some of them are also qualified to provide first aid.
All employees of INA MAZIVA d.o.o., INA Group, contractors, students involved in professional practice and other persons who visit INA MAZIVA sites are required to be properly dressed and equipped in accordance with business ethics or in accordance with the job requirements. It is the obligation of all employees and other persons to always use personal protective equipment in accordance with the Risk Assessment and the dangers, harms and risks.
Due to the nature of our industry, fire protection presents a key element of safety. The system of preventive fire protection measures, employee training and regular testing of knowledge (theoretical and practical), continuous education, operational readiness of the professional fire brigade, fire drills, as well as internal and external cooperation with the firefighting companies, continuously contribute to care for people and safety of our site, as well as the community in which we operate.
A campaign on Life Saving Rules was implemented as part of INA MAZIVA’s on-going commitment to create a safe working environment for employees and effort to strengthen the culture of occupational safety. The Life Saving Rules consist of 6 rules. The goal is to introduce these rules to all INA MAZIVA employees, contractors and subcontractors. Adopting and implementing Life Saving Rules greatly reduces the risk of an accident. Every employee should react and stop works if there is any doubt about safety.
INA MAZIVA continuously participates in the INA Group campaign and in 2013 adopted the “Safe Driving Policy”. The Policy defines the basic principles of traffic safety which all drivers are obliged to adhere to in order to increase traffic safety. Our employees, whose work process includes many business trips, have been attended the safe driving training and with their proactive approach have become safe driving ambassadors in the working environment and beyond.
In accordance with the legal requirements, technological development and internal procedures, additional controls and modernization of the system are continuously carried out in order to increase occupational health and safety and reduce risks to employees’ health, and for that reason INA MAZIVA has implemented Process Safety Management. Process safety management deals with the risks of hazardous substances discharge and the prevention of incidents caused by the discharge of hazardous substances in chemical processes. The main objective of the PSM System implementation in INA MAZIVA is to identify, understand and control the process hazards in order to prevent major fires, explosions or harmful emissions that could lead to death or serious damage to assets, environmental consequences or influence the Company’s reputation.
